Session title

Impactful development of intellectual and performance virtues

1:00 - 2:15pm

Workshop Overview

This workshop will look at the taught, caught and sought approach to teaching character education, moving from a research based approach to teaching virtue knowledge and habituation, to a more in depth study of how one department in school has shaped their curriculum to explicitly promote intellectual and performance virtues. Activities include a quick audit of where schools are at already in their character journey, what steps they might take to focus more on making the implicit explicit in virtue practise, and what some of the challenges might be.
